Profile | Training & development

I was brought up in Scotland, England and the USA and have always been fascinated by languages, accents, dialects and all of the little linguistic oddities that we encounter everyday. This lifelong affinity for languages inspired me to study them at school then university, where I discovered my enthusiasm for translation.

I hold the following relevant qualifications:

Professional Certificate in Translation, Words Language Services

MA Honours degree in Hispanic Studies (Spanish and Portuguese languages and cultures), University of Glasgow. First-class marks achieved for Translation, Spanish Language and my dissertation which examined the linguistic adaptation of foreign films in Spain within a social context.

Over the last several years, I've translated for the Spanish public sector, private companies in the UK and US, non-profit organisations, international corporations and private clients.

I also have extensive experience in library work (academic, school and public) and have taught English and Spanish for various public and private education services.

As an Affiliate member of the Institute of Translation & Interpreting, I adhere to the Institute's Code of Professional Conduct.
